J&J Line Names, Next Line and an Upcoming Sale- Exclusive Info Here!

New lines are coming out a week from today: Sunday, April 5th. We've seen the SKUs, and now we know the line names:

Boy: World Traveler
Girl: Butterfly Garden
Layette Boy: Neighborhood Charm
Layette Girl: Summer Picnic

Look forward to new SKUs coming soon- the following line releases April 26th. That date will release a Summer Cap line AND a swim line- so possibly some of the SKUs we saw recently will be in there as well. No line names yet.

Lastly, don't feel down if you missed F&F because the Spring Sale starts April 2nd! No info yet on what the discount will be or how long it's going to run. I expect J&J will tell us about that in the next few days

Gymbo Outlet Opening in Vero Beach, Fl Today

VERO BEACH — Vero Fashion Outlets announces the opening of Gymboree Outlet on Thursday.
The 2,218-square-foot store is between Ultra Diamonds and Bose. Vero Fashion Outlets is on State Road 60, west of Interstate 95 in Vero Beach.

P.S. by Aeropostale Coming to a Tween Near You!

While many companies are narrowing their scope in this difficult economic climate, Aeropostale stands out as something different. This Summer, Aeropostale is expanding their base to include a new concept: P.S. - The same Aeropostale forumla geared toward the tween set (ages 7-12).

Says Chairman and CEO Julian Geiger "We have watched with amazement for years [the way] moms would come to Aeropostale with an older and a younger sibling, with the younger sibling desperately trying to fit into the merchandise that was obviously too big for them. We are expanding and extending all of the things we've done well for the high school student to the elementary school student. We are enormously focused on this."

The company expects to open 10 stores this year.

The Janie & Jack previews in the gallery have been named! The upcoming boy's Roman-themed line is called "Little Rome" while the corresponding girl's line is called "Ciao Bella". The swim lines are called "Surf Club" for boys and "Swim Garden" for girls! Look for these changes to be reflected soon in our gallery!

A Very Cool Interview with Mr Johnnie Boden

Johnnie recently sat down to lunch with a reporter from The Financial Times. He discussed the trials Boden faced early on, the global domination of Boden and a bit about the future. Of interest:
-Boden claims that 1/3 of profits in the last three years are from the US.
-40% of the 2009 Summer line will be new items
-Boden (the company) has been financially secure since 2000

When asked about how the recession will affect Boden in the near future, Boden replies:
“You come at a very interesting time because we are looking at our budgets for the autumn. You know the best way to preserve profits is to reduce your growth but I am ambitious, I want to keep growing, and it is a very difficult balance.”

K-Fed to Design Children's Clothing

HONEST, IT’S TRUE: Kevin Federline, aka K-Fed, is the latest celebrity wannabe to throw his hat in the fashion design ring. Best known as Britney Spears’ ex-husband, the former backup dancer-turned-would-be rapper has now set his sights on a children’s clothing line, and is in talks with Gerard Guez about a licensing deal. Federline, who made an overnight stop at the Project trade show in Las Vegas in the interest of research, stayed overnight at the Venetian and said he was looking around at the styles and was hoping to be inspired by what he saw. “It’s a really tough business, I’m trying to take it seriously and make a quality product for kids but not have parents pay like $500 or something ridiculous for a pair of jeans,” he said, bemoaning the perils of buying expensive clothing for the two sons he has with Spears. “You buy your kids a pair of True Religions then they roll around in the dirt like kids do and a $200 pair of jeans is gone. With this economy, I’m looking to do something much more reasonable.” No word yet on the name of the line or a potential release date.
