Some Technical Difficulties

Please excuse our mess but we had a small problem last night while trying to do a major publish. As some of you may have noticed our site was down for a time over the early PST AM hours, but we've resolved that and are now trying to get the publish back on schedule and up. Because of these issues there may be some gallery images in the new Janie and Jack Boys lines that do not display correctly.

Rest assured that we have our IT team working on it and that we expect everything to be sorted in the next few hours. Again, we apologize for the problems and hope that you are having a great weekend.

A Big Week for Sales!!

The boards were a buzz earlier this week with the surprise announcement that Gymboree was having an unprecedented $2.99/$4.99 sale on merchandise that had JUST come out. Whatever the reason behind the sale, people have been taking advantage and stocking up with Summer must haves!

Just as the buzz of the sale began to quiet down, came news of a similar sale from Janie & Jack. Tomorrow morning, Friday, January 30, 2009, Janie & Jack stores will be having markdowns of older merchandise down to $3.99! This sale is only for Friday and Saturday only, so HURRY! This information came courtesy of Ash's Closet (an AWESOME eBay seller.).

Crazy8 has also announced a $3.99 sale on hundreds of items. A quick check of their website shows accessories coming in even cheaper- some at $2.99 and even $1.99.

This is a great week for shopping! I hope everyone is out finding great deals!

J&J Boys Upcoming Lines- New CUTE SKU!

J&J uploaded 3 new Easter boy's SKUs today. 2 boy's button up shirts and one seriously cute, 2 sided dog tee! They are now all in the Boy's Easter Preview.

Boys J&J! Upcoming Stuff...and the Gymbo Rumor Mill...

For anyone that didn't notice, we quietly added J&J boy's layette a few nights ago. I can promise you all that J&J boys lines ARE coming in the next few days. I apologize for the delay. Our tech guy was sick all weekend and is now backlogged a bit.

So what's next after all the J&J is done? Thanks to YOUR feedback, I am pleased to announce that next up is Gap! I've been slaving over Gap for several days now, figuring out what goes to what line. And just to give love to boys moms (and to make up for them coming second on J&J), Gap BOYS will be up on the site FIRST this time!

Now for the juicy stuff. In a call to ICR Xchange 2 weeks ago, Gymbo COO/CFO Blair Lambert gave some information about how Gymbo as a whole is doing. Given the economy, they are doing quite well! J&J, Gymbo, Gymbo Outlet and Crazy 8 all continue to grow.

The Crazy 8 news: Look for sweet, wholesome girl's outfits coming mid year. In boys, we'll be seeing less activewear and more all American boy type outfits. Most exciting is that there will be more newborn collections than in previous years.

The Gymboree News: Look for "Baby's First Wardrobe" as well as shower gifts in store. Organic baby line will continue. The most exciting news by far comes from the Boy's department. Boys lines have been increasing in popularity in recent year. Due to the demand, Lambert says this year there will be a new focus on introducing more accessories as well as "furnishings", though this was not elaborated on.

Troubleshooting in FMC

I thought I would take a moment to address some of the concerns that have been voiced about using FMC. So here are the things we've heard buzzed about:

1) I can't click the buttons on the Nav Bar! I can't see the pictures! Help!
About 1% of the visitors to our site are encountering this problem, and luckily, it's an easy one to fix! All you have to do is go into your internet options and turn on "Javascript"- please note that this is different from just Java. Once Javascript is enabled, you should be able to navagate the site just fine.

2) The pictures are too big to put into my siggy on message boards.
This one is also an easy fix. If you copy and paste the image itself, it *should* fit into your siggy without getting an error message that it is too big. If however, you still feel it is too big, you can simply copy/paste the thumbnail image from the bottom of the gallery (this is the method I prefer). The picture will then only take up a very small ammount of space, and will be a link so that if someone clicks on that picture, it will open up the full sized image in a new window so there is NO mistaking what it is you're looking for.

- There is obiously a lot of work that is coming to the site over the next few weeks, including more Janie & Jack uploads. I am so pleased to announce that I'm just putting the finishing touches on these, so boy moms: don't feel left out! ;)

- After Janie and Jack is done, we are moving forward with Gap, Crazy8 and finally Gymboree.
